Accommodations & Pro-Rates

I understand that standard structures are not best for everyone. I am happy to be flexible with time and rates, as appropriate and possible. If you have a health issue, for example, you may request or I may suggest pro-rated sessions to ease the strain of length of standard sessions. If at any point, you may need more frequent or less frequent, longer or shorter sessions, these accommodations may be discussed and possible, as needed.

*Sliding Scale Rates

I highly welcome requests for a sliding scale and attempt to provide discounted rates as much as possible. Standard/Full Fee rates are intended only for those who can afford it and help me provide more sliding scale slots. Sliding scale rates are available on a limited basis based on the number of standard/full fee rate slots used in the previous year. I do not request proof of income. I only request a written or verbal general statement indicating that you have a financial need for a sliding scale rate and the specific rate that you request. If I am unable to meet your request, I will offer a wait list or referrals to other providers who can honor your rate.

HEALTH INSURANCE

Unfortunately, I do not accept insurance. Clients can pay by credit/debit through Stripe.

FSA/HSA, CALVCB or Out of Network INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT

Superbills are invoices that can be provided at your request that you can use with some out of network services through your health insurance, CALVCB or FSA/HSA benefits for the reimbursement , tax-deductible or pre-taxed payment of psychotherapy fees.

*Please note that a superbill requires a formal clinical assessment within your first 3 appointments and a DSM-V diagnosis identified during the assessment and noted on your superbill.

Cancellations/No Shows

Late cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged your full session fee.

No shows without any notice will also be charged your full session fee.

Hardships, sudden illness and extenuating circumstances may be taken into account when charging a no show or late cancellation fee at a limited basis of up to 3 per year.

End of Services

Sessions may vary depending on your needs and symptoms. I will work with you to create a collaborative plan of care that can meet your budget, availability and mental health needs. If you need short term care or longer term care, we can be flexible and communicate about any accommodations. I always strive to help you meet your goals as soon and as effectively as possible but also in a pace that considers care to your unique needs. I also offer maintenance sessions that can be shorter and less frequent. I will openly communicate if I feel that you seem to be meeting your goals and recommend graduating from your services. You also reserve the right to end your services at any time.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
